Islamic Gardens

For a lush outdoor space with fountains and water in a hot, dry climate must be creative and innovative in order to water the lush place to bring through channels. A wall / barrier is necessary for the blowing sand and dust has no chance. Islamic gardens are symmetrical and almost always surrounded by a barrier which separates the area of the environment (city streets)

This gives a sense of mystical Islamic gardens when you first enter an outdoor space. A sense of privacy and comfort.

Islamic gardens are often created in places where nothing has grown, where nothing existed. The designer does almost never take into account existing features. Ie all plants and trees, paths and water features can be planned according to the idea of the designer. Gardens follow the Islamic tradition of decorating with beautiful geometric patterns. Of water and vegetation are created in perfectly symmetrical geometric shapes and patterns or octagonal star-shaped patterns. All patterns and shapes are processed in a harmonious plan. The outdoor area is lush in a harmonious, creative and organized plan in the ideals of Islam reflected.

Main elements of the Islamic outdoor space:

• Water - fountains, water, moving water channels
• green, dense, fresh planting of cypress and fruit-bearing plants that produce shade
• Walls or fences that enclose the outdoor area and a mysterious character and private giving
• An outdoor space into harmonious symmetry, using geometric shapes for water features, paths, pavilions or plantations

Designer Leon van Rijswijk designs for an Islamic Garden in the sense of harmony, symmetry, geometry while preserving privacy and mystery. In areas outside Europe will take into account existing features.
